20,000 Cows existed as a proclaimed sanctuary, Existing as a philosophically and spiritually based operation with a 'suggested prices only' menu. The vegetarian theme, although a sincerely practiced discipline Importantly links to deeper life issues.



All that remains of the Lismore 20,000 Cows restaurant after the floods is the shell and two small emblems above the back and front door proclaiming Ashram. It could appear to some that all is gone and what was once there is now just a memory.

But the spirit of the old restaurant and Ashram remains powerfully alive with me for the homecoming steps still to be made. To be worthy to knock on heaven’s door alive.

While the old premises of 20,000 Cows in Bridge St North Lismore has sadly closed, we finally have some good news for the Lismore and Nimbin community!

The new Wolf & Lamb Vegan Cafe in Nimbin is now serving dishes from Mari’s 20,000 Cows menu from Wednesday-Saturday in the evening. Thanks to all the community for helping to make this happen.
